I've finished working on it, you can see a demo of it, the source code, and an explanation of the source code over here.

| Firefox likes to take 100% width and force it onto a new line, and * width to mean take only as much as it needs. This text is in here to force FF to display 100% the same way that IE does. Ghetto fix FTW! |

And I also have a cold. =)
Nose faucets suck. Netflix rules.
End of thought.

I've been working on a nifty little javascript image gallery. it's simple and quick unlike my Image Gallery Loop.
I've got an early version of it up right now with a few shots of Chicago from March this year.

I made a little tool the other night with the intention of creating something that would allow people to scale images so that they represent a 1:1 life-size view of an item in the picture.
The idea is simple, take an image that has an object of known dimensions such as a coin, and while holding another of that same coin type up to your monitor, you step the image size up or down until the coin on screen is the same size as the coin in your hand.
If a site were to be designed around this and have all of their photo's scaled the same, you could have users run through this setup, then save the settings in a cookie so the images are automatically scaled uniquely for that user. The user could know that they will get something that is the same size as what they're seeing.

http://www.theweek.com/article/index/200644/A_national_ID_card_in_2010
The employers who are hiring illegals ALREADY KNOW they are hiring illegals. If they're not checking their eligibility to work in the United States with the current system, why the hell do they think a National ID Card will work?
They won't stop illegals, they won't stop terrorists, they won't do anything besides spend another $100Million dollars that we DON'T HAVE. (see: National Debt)
If this bill passes, tell me. I want to buy stock in the company that makes the ID cards and card readers. There's nothing more profitable than making it illegal to not own your product.

I started playing the God of War collection on the PS3 yesterday. Please keep in mind that these comments are from playing the first game in the collection only, I may recant them when I have a chance to play the second one. I have played both original games to completion.
Although it's nice that they bumped the graphics up to 720p, it makes me wonder why they couldn't do 1080? It's a PS2 game for crying out loud. It doesn't look like they bothered rendering the cut scene's any higher. The sound quality so far, especially in the cut scene's, has been horrible and full of static/white noise. (I don't remember the PS2 games being that way, and no it's not my speakers or wires, blu-rays play fine from the same PS3 without sound issues)
The character models weren't upgraded at all, which makes me wonder why the price is so high. You can get it for ~$30 now, but it was tagged for release at $40. Right now it feels like they're asking for $30 because someone typed "1280" and "720" into a config file.
If you've never played the God of War games before, but wanted to, buy the collection. If you've wanted to play the games again after selling/losing your original copies, buy the collection. If your only interest is in the higher resolutions for a "classic" game, pass.
The game was originally marked at $40, you can get it new now for $30, but I feel the game is worth closer to $20. Which is basically the current used price for the original PS2 games.
UPDATE: I just played the second game in the collection, and my comments are pretty much the same, the audio is a little better, but still has some static to it.

All is not lost in the fight against the demon invasion in London. The wreckage of Flagship Studios has been salvaged by Hanbitsoft who has been running the game in Korea. Hanbitsoft plans to re-release the game in Europe and North America sometime this year.
"The company plans to re-launch the game in China, Taiwan, South East Asia, followed by Europe, NA and Japan." http://www.incgamers.com/News/20514/hanbitsoft-acquires-rights-to-hellgate-london
Hanbitsoft has not only been running the game as a free to play service in Korea, they've been developing the game and even another expansion pack for it titled Hellgate: Tokyo. Not surprisingly, this expansion pack takes place IN Tokyo!
"Hanbitsoft has announced Hellgate: Resurrection will launch officially on December 8, and revealed a teaser trailer of Hellgate: Tokyo. The ACT 1 (of 10) is scheduled to be implemented on March 2010."
"The game will be free to play with basic items, and Hanbitsoft plans to offer a service that allows players to purchase items for real-money." http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/hellgate-tokyo-teaser-trailer
I'm admittedly excited about the possibility of playing Hellgate: London again assuming they've fixed a lot of the issues that killed it for me in the first place. I'm also not a fan of the selling in-game items for real money, but at least the money will be going to the people who deserve it, and not someone who "farms" the game all day.
My main concern is if there will be items in the game that are ONLY available if you purchase them. I hate to encourage this nickle and dime mentality in the game industry in any shape or form.
I played the game Project Entropia for maybe a day a year or so after it launched. Project Entropia is the game that keeps making headlines about virtual properties being sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars. The game was built around the idea that the in game currency will be tied to real currency. You can use your real money to purchase game money, and for a fee, withdraw game money for real money. Unfortunately, atleast for a minimal investment of $20, you barely got enough in game money to keep you alive for a couple hours. The game appeared to me to be geared towards ripping people off unless they invest heavily so they actually have a chance of getting established enough to be self sufficient.
Hopefully the new Hellgate: London won't sink to that level though.
