I knew Max Schaefer and a lot of the team from the first Diablo games were making a new game, but I totally forgot about it until 30 minutes ago when I saw it for pre-order on Steam. The biggest thing that strikes me about this game is the low system requirements.
If you followed the development of Mythos (or better yet, were in on the beta test) before Flagship Studios went under, you'll be VERY familiar with the art direction that this game is taking. As a matter of fact, after hearing Max explain that they plan to begin development on an MMO version of the game immediately after the single player version is released, I got the feeling that Mythos' spirit was able to remain alive under a different name and different character/class models.
I was lucky enough to be in on the beta tests for both Mythos and Hellgate: London and I remember wanting to play Mythos more. It's a shame that FSS went under before Mythos could be completed, but I'm glad to see that something good semi-made it out of that train wreck. At least I hope it's good, I don't need to spend any more money on crappy games. I will say that I'm a little disappointed that the game is single player only, but I'm also curious about the MMO version that they are going to be working on.
Borderlands is being released on Steam/PC tomorrow, but I find myself almost wanting to skip that and play Torchlight instead on Tuesday.

| Firefox likes to take 100% width and force it onto a new line, and * width to mean take only as much as it needs. This text is in here to force FF to display 100% the same way that IE does. Ghetto fix FTW! OMG! a hidden counter! Views:
