The employers who are hiring illegals ALREADY KNOW they are hiring illegals. If they're not checking their eligibility to work in the United States with the current system, why the hell do they think a National ID Card will work?
They won't stop illegals, they won't stop terrorists, they won't do anything besides spend another $100Million dollars that we DON'T HAVE. (see: National Debt)
If this bill passes, tell me. I want to buy stock in the company that makes the ID cards and card readers. There's nothing more profitable than making it illegal to not own your product.
